That image is fascinating that you created! I haven't started this chakra yet but am interested to see if I agree with you about the chapter. I do feel like the book is getting less and less organized and coherent too. I like the sound of this chakra though! I always score high on this one when I take the tests.

I've really enjoyed sharing this experience with you Caroline, your perspective, your illustrations...always fresh and new and interesting. You are such a multi-dimensional thinker, it's inspiring.

I am stuck on the solar plexus, have been for 2 weeks. So, I decided to put the book away til after Christmas and maybe I can focus better then.
I had such a difficult time with my sacral journey - maybe it is a good idea for me to take the time out.
Not knowing what the third eye chapter entails - I would say that mine is quite balanced - however I am usually wrong :-) - I always associate the third eye with pyschic abilities though.
over think? oh lord - I am Queen of over thinking and analyzing.

I've never done chakras, but a good friend has and claims it helped her a lot. Maybe I should give it a chance.

Re: your cat and tin foil...yup, I can picture it!

I tried reading the chapter last night. I skipped ahead and read the last few pages where she offers suggestions and the list of words.
I find myself enjoying the book more, not because of the writing as much as I am putting more into the book. Now I read with a pen in hand and underline key words or sentences that resonate with me.

Sometimes she does say things that are off to me, but I skim over them because although I don't relate, she hasn't said anything that offends me.
Some other self help type books I read had me really disagreeing with parts.

I will probably read some more tonight.

I have worked on opening my third eye before. I read the Third Eye
http://www.amazon.com/Third-Eye-T-Lobsang-Rampa/dp/0345340388
while reading that book I had amazing astral dreams.
when I moved to MA it is as if my spiritual life fell under a veil and now it is beginning to lift. I am feeling very excited about this lifting.

Thank you for always sending me positive energy. I feel very close to you and so glad we have connected. When I think of my blogging sisters I always think of you. You are in my heart.<3

XOXO,
Melba

PS Do you have a nickname?

Caroline: I have to admit that the Chakra stuff is way beyond me. Maybe it's age or inclination... but all I know is that I love your pictures, your ideas and the whole feel of your blog. Don't try too hard to change, please!

Sounds like you are getting close to the end of the chakra book ... I'll miss your journey when it's over.

Tarzan sounds like a very likable fellow... cats .... you gotta love them!

interesting that you hide in non-fiction books - I hide in science fiction and fantasy as often as not.and I believe that we all have a self image that has very deep roots. Hard to change that ... but it can be done.

If parts of Sonia Choquette's work aren't quite doing it for you - you might try Anodea Judith. Eastern Body/Western Mind is very awesome if you are in a fix-it/needing to heal kind of place. It's also quite useful if you'd like reference book that may relate to a longer stretch of life's passages and people other than yourself, rather than simply providing a personalized one-shot "look" at the chakras.

I say "one-shot" because, one thing I've definitely noticed is that people actually learn about the chakras through this book don't tend to explore the subject any further. I don't know if that's got anything to do with the book, or more of a personality type getting what they need and moving on to the next topic.

Anodea Judith's work seems to catalyze people at a much deeper and longer lasting level. Some of my students come to me (I teach chakra intensives, hence my interest in the topic) feeling that she is "too deep" or overly complex and conceptual for their tastes but The Sevenfold Journey is pretty straightfoward. I personally find her insights and advice concerning the upper chakras to be FAR greater value than what's offered in True Balance.

My very favorite chakra writer is Caroline Shola Arewa. All these books DO actually go much deeper and offer far more comprehensive advice and insight. That could either be a good or a bad thing, depending on your personal style and inclinations.
