I had ordered the movie for my watershed group to watch, but I'd not taken the "test" before. My score was average.

Excellent, important post here and as always, I love the drawing.

I have the book...a favorite because it brings the point to us in a profound and mind altering manner without being preachy. We try very hard to do our part, my family and I, and are making great strides. Every little bit helps and the little bits grow into major efforts.

I saw the movie a few weeks back - the thing that really made me stop and think was Al Gore's point about computers. Yep, we all have one, we are all on them constantly and we cannot/will not turn them off. makes me think, quite abit about how serious we all are about climate damage and the environment.
I also liked how he pointed out to us - not to get 'scared' about the future but to do the best we can.
I guess that is all any of us can do. I am trying to remember that I cannot fix the world but I CAN change my own backyard & home.

Thanks for the reminder to see the movie. I've actually been afraid to see it, but I am working myself up to it. Now Wisconsin is having another unusually warm winter -- no snow, if you can believe that and I could probably still get some bulbs into the ground in late December! I rated "smaller than average" impact -- probably because I don't fly and practically everything we do is within a 1-2 mile radius from home (jobs, schools, stores, etc.) It's a conscious choice we made, and I like it. I can go days without driving.

I´m sitting under the big ozone hole over Antarctica. It´s getting bigger, so one doesn´t actually need to be Antarctica to be affected...only in southern Argentina and Chile.

I saw the movie on a plane back from somewhere (Cameroon?) and was surprised it was even on a plane, since it didn´t seem too mainstream (but should be!)

It was a very good film, made very good points. In my part of the world, most of us recycle and all that. The real point though is how we deal with resources and how we perceive them. We use too much because we believe in scarcity so instead of using wisely, we gobble it all up. This is the price we pay.

I haven't seen the film yet, but saw Al Gore on Oprah talk for an hour explaining it (the best he could in an hour)
I really have started thinking differently, but what I really need to do is act. Sometimes that is difficult to do. We bought new appliances 3 years ago and I never looked for the energy efficient seal and I see that none of ours have it. I can't afford to go out and buy new aplliances but I do know there are many things I can do now, today.
Thanks for the reminder!

Happy New Year!!!!

It's so great to hear that this film has reached most corners of the world. It's a really important film with a super important message. Good that Al Gore's personality has helped spread the word.

Here in Sweden the consciousness about these things has been quite big for a long time, and even if we've been quite good at recycling and such basic things, it feels like 2006 has been the year when we've all woken up to reality. Swedish Telvision did a big series called "The Planet" about the envionmental issues, the biggest evening newspaper has a big campaign, Al Gore's film came out, and people are talking about it when they meet.

Moving forward. I hope 2007 will be an even better year, when the whole western world wakes up and realizes we have to start to think before we act. Use our resources carefully, and not dump left overs on others.

Hi there Caroline - thanks for finding me again!

I stopped blogging for the summer - it started with 2 weeks on retreat and then I needed more like 3 months off from blogging (though no longer on retreat from everything else). But as you noticed I'm back and renewed.

I love the way you illustrate your blog the drawings are so full of thought and fun!

And on Sophie's Tarot - her mother told me by email that Sophie has tried again but is finding it much harder to do a complete set now that she's a little older.

I hope you have a wonderful, colourful, inspired 2007!

Hello everyone!
I would like to burn a theme at here. There is such a nicey, called HYIP, or High Yield Investment Program. It reminds of ponzy-like structure, but in rare cases one may happen to meet a company that really pays up to 2% daily not on invested money, but from real profits.

For several years , I make money with the help of these programs.
I'm with no money problems now, but there are heights that must be conquered . I get now up to 2G a day , and my first investment was 500 dollars only.
Right now, I'm very close at catching at last a guaranteed variant to make a sharp rise . Visit my web site to get additional info.
