Mouse 2

We found a dead mouse in the living room this morning. We've seen no signs of mice this winter, so I believe that Tarzan killed it outside and brought it in as a love offering through his special portal. I feel terrible because I didn't help at all.

The only one of our cats that goes outside does that to us all the time, although she usually leaves her "gifts" on the front step. She has brought home several things I won't mention, but the funniest was when she returned with a tassle, like you would find on a stalking cap, only MUCH larger. I still giggle over that.

I love your art! This one is so cute. Tarzan has the funniest look on his face and your husband looks absolutely aghast. Wonderful!

Oh no, that's awful Caroline. I'm sure Tarzan was quite proud on the results of the hunt but that can be very disturbing. I'm glad you didn't have to deal with it directly!

I love the picture too - because my dad is so beat down with being the "go to guy" for all things dead.

That being said, we've had cats AND dogs that do that. It was really awful when my dog brought my cat's corpse and shook it at my feet. Hello - traumatized for life.

Now we just have a cat that drags in baby bunnies. Much less traumatic - NOT!

Are you sure it was a mouse? That looks more like a dead opossum! It's been many a year since I've had a cat and you reminded me of all the wonderful "gifts" she brought to us. Wonderful picture, Caroline.

I am admittedly VERY afraid of mice, I can't give you a reason, I just am. We had a problem a while back - new construction across the street stirred them up I think. G ended up plugging every single possible teeny opening, near pipes etc with steel wool. So far so good or I'd lose my mind. Outside we have a gopher problem and the neighborhood cat is a hunter and leaves his kill for us out back. When we went away once we came back to what looked like the killing fields. eeeeewwww! I'd never make in a rural setting. G is calm about all of that...I, on the other hand, could be found sitting on the back of the sofa with the phone "we haaaaavvvveeee a moooooousssse!"
XOXO
Love,
Lisa the Wimp - lol!

You know what's really gross? When they eat the head down to a point, as if the rodent's been put in a pencil sharpener!

I also used to have a cat that brought in earthworms and left them on the floor where I'd step on them.
