My husband is in the transportation business and he's his own boss. He has his own car carrier which he uses to haul cars.
On Saturday, he arrived late for a delivery, and the place closed down....until Monday morning. So he was stuck in his sleeper, in a snowstorm, in an unsavory part of town somewhere in the mid-West from Saturday afternoon to Monday morning.

He is a very patient man. But when he read my blog and saw what I was thinking of wearing to the benefit auction, he felt anxious and just had to call me in protest.

Ah he likes to keep an eye on you from a distance does he... mine is like that too... hope he had a restful weekend stuck there worrying about your clothes!!! Yikes!

Love your drawings as always...

Which one did he object to and why?

Caroline: I am anxious to know how the benefit was and what you wore. Your posts are so funny and I wonder if any of the benefit people read your blog.
You have a cute husband...he cared more for your feelings than his own. Nice.

Poor guy to be stuck like that!

I love that outfit BTW, don't you dare change it!

My husband's always wanting me to wear something daring and I'm always very conservative although I'm trying to change that.

Which one did you decide to wear? I'm really curious!

By the way, awesome art as always! I could see your hubbies changing moods very clearly.

Oh my, I have to tell the truth here. The truth is this: I still can't decide what to buy! I went out again tonight, but no luck.

Laurie, thank you for recognizing my drawings! I'm still wobbly on my feet, but I feel like they are getting better each week.

Hey Caroline, I'm glad to know that yours does the same. He was grumpy after being stuck for so long, but now that he's on the road, all it well. Thanks.

Sacred Suzie, can you REALLY see me in that outfit. Gawd. I drew it as a joke, but so many people are telling me to wear it.

Ginnie, the benefit auction is on Saturday. Time's a wastin'

Suzy, I think he didn't like the one that miss*R called "the Pixie outfit." He loves me no matter what, but given the choice, he encourages me to be "hanimefendi," a term that means, I guess, "elegant in a feminine way." The Pixie suit didn't cut it.

Your poor hubby! At least he was home when the cat brought you her gift!
(My hubby is from Rye,NY and is now a driver recruiter for JB HUNT here in NW Arkansas.)
I'm glad to hear you are making good progress on choosing your outfit for the auction!

Yes, do tell us more about that.

Those are very good drawings. You should be a book illustrator. :)

This is better than 'The Archers' (BBC radio 4 'soap') - I'm dying to know what you wear in the end....

I just love your drawings ... fresh, funny, expressive, absolutely great. Thank you for the comment on my blog about the tulips, it was like poetry.
Really enjoying your blog :-) E.

You could just see his mood change in your illos - geez I LOVE how you can very easily depict a situation with them.
As to the great outfit is one of the hardest things to deal with - that "what do I wear?" question, "will I feel comfortable?" "will I ever wear it again?" "can I sit in it or stand in the shoes a long time?" "will I feel like me?" Wouldn't it be wonderful if there was a magical machine - you walked up - you enter what kind of event, time of day - it assesses you and your style - you hear a few bells and whistles and then POOF - it dispenses the perfect outfit that suits you perfectly. THEN you step on a special pad - it assesses your foot and POOF - out come shoes to go with it that fit like a glove!!
I hope you find something that makes your heart sing...and your husband not worry you'll look like a pixie. LOL!

I truly believe that we have reached the point where technology has become one with our world, and I am fairly certain that we have passed the point of no return in our relationship with technology.

I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Ethical concerns aside... I just hope that as memory becomes cheaper, the possibility of downloading our brains onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's one of the things I really wish I could experience in my lifetime.

I sell a boat-program which will help you to outwit auction and to win, initially the boat was created for the Scandinavian auction but now the program can work with similar auctions: gagen ru, vezetmne ru and with ten.
The program-boat stakes for you, i.e. for this purpose it is not necessary to sit constantly at the monitor. The boat can set time when it is necessary to stake, thus you as much as possible will lower expenses for rates, and as much as possible increase the chances of a victory.

The price of the program a boat for the Scandinavian auctions 20$

For the first 10 clients the price 15$

To all clients free updating and support.

Behind purchases I ask in icq: 588889590 Max.

Nice post... Looks like solid-state memory is finally starting to become more popular. Hopefully we'll start seeing decreasing solid state harddisk prices soon. Five dollar 32 gig Micro SD Cards for your DS flash card... sounds good to me!
